When you have more than one store setup on Magento (i.e. you are using Magento in multi-store mode), the next thing you may want to implement is a shared customer base across all your stores, so users registered on one Magento site can shop on your other Magento stores using the same login credentials.
For example User A who has registered on Magento Store-1 should be able to shop on Magento Store-2 using the same username and password, without needing to register again on the second store with exactly the same information that he provided on Store-1.
Here’s how you can implement this feature:
Go to Admin > System (Menu) > Configuration (Menu Option) > Customers (Section) > Customer Configuration (as shown below).
On this screen under the ‘Account Sharing Options’ section, set the ‘Share Customer Accounts‘ setting to ‘Global‘ (this setting is typically set to ‘Per Website’ by default‘). And that’ it. Hope you find this post useful.
