Folio3 Developed Wireless Messaging Solution Powers FIFA 2014 World Cup Communications

July 9, 2014

Folio3 is proud to announce that one of our developed solutions, the HipLink wireless alert management and messaging platform, is being utilized by the Rio Operations Center, Brazil (COR) to drive their communications, in support of the 2014 FIFA World Cup games being held in the city.

The Rio Operations Center helps coordinate communications between key personnel in many different city organizations and public safety agencies, encompassing 30 agencies and over 2500 devices on a daily operational basis. These include city officials, hotel representatives, FIFA personnel, Maracana stadium officials, power and utility officials, and other World Cup stakeholders. Key individuals within these organizations are receiving messages (via the HipLink platform) about traffic conditions, critical information relating to venues and events, issues of public safety, and any information deemed important by COR.

The HipLink platform was designed and developed entirely by Folio3 and comprises of 2 key systems:

  • The HipLink Enterprise Server – An enterprise class web based messaging platform that provides real time message delivery and two-way communication capability across multiple devices, through a variety of communication protocols and is available in onsite, hosted or hybrid deployment models
  • The HipLink Enterprise Mobile Notification Solution – An enterprise solution (available for the iOS, Android and Blackberry OS) that uses a series of mobile apps to provide private inbox support, persistent alerts, encrypted messages, two way messaging, remote administration, enterprise paging protocols, query status and response action execution

The HipLink platform enables the Rio Operations Center to control account access, manage groups, create messages and select recipients for these messages. Read the full story.
