The Problem

Koliso Inc. faced critical bottlenecks in enabling seamless oversight across large-scale land development and construction sites. The core issue stemmed from a lack of spatial intelligence within existing task management systems. Without integrated geospatial capabilities, teams struggled to map work orders to physical locations, resulting in fragmented coordination and delayed execution.

The Solution

Folio3 adopted the Lean Startup Methodology, beginning with an MVP Discovery phase. This phase focused on

The process begins with identifying and refining requirements, followed by conducting empathy exercises to gain a deeper understanding of user needs. Essential features are then defined and prioritized to ensure a focused approach. Additionally, user personas and journey maps are developed to visualize user interactions, leading to the creation of wireframes and interactive prototypes for a structured and user-centric design.

Once the MVP was conceptualized, Folio3 implemented the product using an Agile, sprint-driven approach. The development included three key portals:

Student Portal

An intuitive dashboard featuring task management and progress tracking, along with access to school listings, class schedules, and forums. Additionally, personalized student profiles and notifications enhance the user experience.

Student management tools include meeting scheduling and curriculum planning, while integrated discussion forums and collaboration features enhance interaction. Additionally, alerts and notifications ensure streamlined communication.

Admin Portal

The solution provides centralized management of student and counselor accounts, class administration, and school data uploads, along with system-wide oversight and user role management. To ensure scalability and performance, Folio3 deployed the solution on AWS using a combination of Docker containers for testing and deployment, RDS MySQL for database management, S3 buckets for secure file storage, Redis caching for improved system responsiveness, MongoDB for activity logging, and Amazon SES for email and in-app notifications.

The development stack includes HTML, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap 5, and jKanban for the frontend, along with Laravel (9.52.15) and MySQL (8.0.34) for the backend. The infrastructure stack comprises AWS (EC2, ECS, RDS MySQL, S3), Docker for deployment, Redis for caching, MongoDB for logging, and Amazon SES for notifications.
