Boomaroo Nurseries is an Australia based vegetable seedling producer. As one of Australia's largest seedling suppliers, it provides around 300 million seedlings to growers across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. The company is renowned for the high quality of its commercial seedlings and wholesale greenlife, and its capacity to deliver on time, every time.
Although it is one of Australia's largest seedling suppliers, Boomaroo Nurseries’ business was centered around its brick and mortar operations. The company wanted to expand its customer base and enhance its revenues further by starting ecommerce operations, and was looking for a vendor to help them create a WooCommerce based B2B storefront for this purpose. Since they were using Microsoft’s Dynamics AX ERP for their back office, they also wanted their ecommerce site to be integrated with their Dynamics AX ERP, so they could consolidate all their operations within a single system.
Since Boomaroo’s business involves the sale and delivery of seedlings (of various qualities) according to specific timelines and dates (for e.g. seedlings to be delivered over a span of 2, 3 or 4 weeks or over a span of 5 to 6 days), Folio3 developed a custom WooCommerce based B2B web store for Boomaroo with a customized Ajax based frontend, that met their business’ unique requirements.
The site enables customers to place orders for various seedlings of differing qualities and quantities, and specify their delivery tenure or dates, based on which the quantity ordered is evenly delivered over the desired timespan. Key features of the site include:
The site is fully integrated with their Dynamics AX back office via Folio3’s proprietary Dynamics AX Connector for WooCommerce, which seamlessly transfers all order data from WooCommerce into Dynamics AX and automatically updates inventory levels in NetSuite and WooCommerce, along with updating item information, fulfillments and payment details from Dynamics AX to WooCommerce. The entire solution was delivered within the short span of five weeks.
Thanks to Folio3 efforts, Boomaroo’s customers can now place orders directly via the website, which has helped the company reduce their sales support staff from eight to two personnel. The new site has also helped Boomaroo attract more customers and boost revenues, with the company reporting a 35% increase in sales, since the site went live.
