It’s almost become custom for Apple to launch a new device at the tail end of each year. This year’s event held on September 14, also saw the launch of two new iPhone models – the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus and Apple’s new wearable, the App Watch. For those of you who missed it, here are the Apple event September highlights.
New iPhones Unveiled
Apple launched two new iPhone Devices iPhone6 and iPhone 6 Plus
Both devices have retina HD displays
Both phones are bigger than previous iPhone models. The iPhone 6 is 4.7 inches and the iPhone 6 Plus is 5.5 inches

The iPhone 6 Plus’ resolution is 1920x 1080
The iPhone 6 Plus’ keyboard has dedicated keys for cut, copy and paste in landscape mode
The home screen on the iPhone 6 Plus also supports landscape mode with dock items located on the right
To aid one handed usage, Apple has also added side swipe gestures for the iPhone 6 Plus, along with moving the screen lock button a little below, and a few other UI tweaks
Apple’s also updated the Xcode engine, which now offers a much more advanced auto layout, so you can easily adjust the UI of your app for all screen sizes
Although your app will look the same on the iPhone 6, and the 6 Plus, it is recommended that you redesign your app to take advantage of the 6 Plus’ larger display
Both new iPhone models run on Apple’s new A8 Chip, which is a faster processor with 2 billion transistors. The new chip offers 25% faster CPU performance and 50% faster GPU performance as compared to the iPhone 5S
